14. Now where is that gas oven??!!

This month so far has been one of many "Lows" and even more "Lows" and not many "Highs" in fact I am getting depressed just thinking about what I have to write, First of all at the beginning of this month I had to attend a funeral and say goodbye to a great man, Helens father John Woods ex RAF passed away and of course I attended, he was my Father-in-Law for 26 years. I hate to say this but it seems that it is only at Weddings and Funerals that I get to see my Family, I went down to Portsmouth the day before as I had to pick up the floral tribute that the family had made, the florist involved was far nearer my  location than anyone else and they would not post such a delicate item. After the funeral we decided that we should really place his tribute on the war memorial on the sea front, so all my family drove down to near Clarence pier

The day of the funeral was stunning

Helen and KT at the War Memorial

Me, Steve, KT, Philip, Danny and eldest Grandson Joe

Helen took me and KT and Joe down to the sea front the boys went with Steve on the way back to Johns house KT sniggered I asked her what was the problem and she said "nothing just listening to my parents chatting, just like old times" yes it was a bit spooky! A couple of days later it was my good friend Damon Rowley's funeral he also passed away the same week as my Father in Law, Damon and I went to school together and also sixth form Damon used to live jsut round the corner from me when we were nippers at the op of Plantation Road.I am so lucky to have found him again living in Gravesend not too far from my current address. And if that wasn't bad enough my "old faithful" Harley left my home for the last time in a back of a van to be delivered up north to the Lake District.

Sob! goodbye old girl

I've had that bike for over 10 years and I am really sorry to see the back of her but"needs must" and all that, The gentleman that bought her William has 8 other bikes and a couple of weeks after getting her mailed me to let me know what a great machine she is and how well I have looked after her, so at least she has a good home.

More bad news followed me on the way down to Johns funeral, while I was sitting in a traffic jam just outside Porchester Lorni rang me in tears to tell me that buyer of our house had his mortgage offer pulled 30 minutes before we were due to exchange, I could have just got out of the car and jumped in the sea at that point, this is the third time our house sale has fallen though it was al getting too much for myself and even more for Lorni who is dangling on a very fine thread hanging between sanity and another complete breakdown if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all. e are now trying to rectify this situation as quick as possible!! also the same day Lorni received a message from our removal company to let us know that they now couldn't move us till late January..bloody brilliant!!

Then to top it all of I had a health scare, in fact still going through it, my blood pressure which has always been high sort of doubled and I had a "Turn" as they say this resulted on my Doctor sending me to the hospital where I had a rather thorough going over and I was prescribed more pills and sent home.

My morning pill intake to keep me alive

I have now been referred to the Blood Pressure clinic but I get to choose which medical facility I want to go to but all of them have around 3 to 4 months waiting lists, good job it's not urgent then???? not so sure it isn't yet, remembering we are trying to move soon, and on the same subject Lorni has been for her pre op assessment as they are going to give her yet another arthroscope, even though she and I know the outcome, they are just trying to save money by not referring her for a knee replacement which we all know she needs, so there you go not the best month I have ever had to date in fact it's probably the worse and top it all off the bloody boiler has packed up grrr.to try and cheer me up a bit Lorni bought me a book..aahhh!

800 pages of the smallest print I have ever seen written in Shakespeare's time so you can imagine the language oh well it will keep me out of trouble for a few weeks I suppose, at least it hasn't snowed yet!.

82. Reflections on Benidorm
