46. I hate decorating!!!

I have to admit I hate it when Lorni is not around so 8 days seemed like months I did manage to put all the bedroom furniture together which nearly killed me it was heavy heavy and I had a bug and wasn't feeling too well at all,in a strange way it was good that I had both dogs as I had no choice but to get up in the morning and get them out and walk them twice a day or I would have curled up in front of the TV and not moved at all. Also they were very good only one accident with Willow which was a miracle. but they were both so well behaved very proud of them.

Because f these two I managed to keep going which was great as it gave me motivation to finish off the guest bedroom I still had a bit of filling to do a curtain track to remove and a new one to fit, two walls to finish painting and a wall to paper. Bear in mind it has probably been at least 35 years since I last hung any wallpaper and these walls are 11 foot high I was dreading it, but I just stuck to it and managed to finish it the day before Lorni was due home which gave me time to clean the house up.

Not too shabby if I say so myself and I managed to surprise Lorni as I never told her that I was doing it, time to start on our bedroom I suppose next week.anyway we now have a finished room for guests if we ever get any LOL.

Even though Lorni is still in a huge amount of pain with her knees and joints she has managed to lose a fair bit of weight and looks so much better for it, we have been trying to sort out the paperwork for Willow which has been a headache because of the warring factions within the charity but we have got there I think she will be spayed in a week or so's time and we will get a new passport for her. We have also been in touch with the women who rescued her  who put her life in danger for obstructing the Gypsies who had owned Willow. Next jobs are to get the air con system serviced and sort out my trip tot he UK in July going on the bike so that should be fun, talking of which I did a quick trip out to Miramar beach about 12 km's from us we had been told that is an alternative to the local beach which can get busy in the summer.

You can see that it is in fact a really beautiful place if a little quiet, back to my weight loss compain and getting fit and decorating.

45. Very quiet too hot and ill...!!

What a complete opposite week from last week, when we had Beth here all excited to see us and us to see her and her looking forward tot he next part of her holiday in Barcelona we had some changeable weather, that's a polite way of putting it...see earlier posts. While Beth was here she had a couple of days where she didn't feel well she picked up a bug on the aircraft, recycled air and all that. Lorni took her to the train station on the 30th and we said goodbye, but! not long after that we got a call Beth had missed her train from Valencia to Barcelona and seeing that was a public holiday the next one was at 3 in the afternoon 6 hours away, we managed to find her a coach trip which only got her in Barcelona 40 minutes after the time she would have arrived if she had caught the train. Miss her already. The next day 31st I took Lorni to the train station at silly O'clock in the morning as she was flying back to the UK to sort out a few health and work related problems staying with friends of ours Steve and Michelle.

Talk about being brave so here I am in Spain unable to ..Yet! to speak the language, no-one to talk to with two dogs that can't be walked at the same time. with some decorating and furniture flat packs to sort out.

I don't mind putting together flat packs but this stuff is real wood and heavy and...there are two chest of drawers three wardrobes addressing table and chair for the 5 drawer chest of drawers and wardrobes there are two boxes for each...took me ages but go there in the end.

I got to admit all the hard work was worth it  in the end this furniture is good stuff only one thing left to do in our room now is to paint it, that's next months project a silver ish colour is what Lorni wants and she may just be right this time. The hardest part of the project was getting the big old heavy wardrobe that was left by the previous owner out of the bedroom and into Lorni's workshop where it will beused as storage.

The other on going project, the guest bedroom downstairs has had to take a back seat as I am far from well I have picked up the same bug that Beth had combined with a severe case of Hay Fever I have done nothing since Lorni left apart from cough n four hour fits just had to happen while Lorni wasn't here, although she has been making some new friends herself...

...Steve and Michelle's new Beagle puppy Spencer.. So I have another three days before Lorni gets home I'm not up to doing much at the moment just walking the dogs 12km a day and keeping them happy is enough for me while feeling so bad but havering said that I do have some washing to sort out and I must clear this place up a bit before Lorni gets back, and with what I have just seen on the weather app for our locale I don't think it will be a good idea to be running around at all.

So it looks like the weather is now turning into what I expected for Spain...HOT, just hope I feel a bit bitter by the time Lorni gets back and then I may hit the beach myself but I must stop running into things and hurting myself first or I will be in too much of a mess to enjoy anything. Roll on Wednesday evening.

Accident prone as always perhaps it will be a good idea not to go out on the bike for while just in case I don't want to tempt providence.
