38. Hectic week or two...

Time certainly fly's when you're having fun. I have been back to the dentists for the second half of my jaw to be deep cleaned and to have the other tooth extracted but just like the first time the dam tooth would not be anaesthetised so another series of antibiotics and back next week to try again..deep joy. Also this week we found out what a jerk the previous owner of this house is, our solicitor is taking him to court for harassment etc etc, it was so bad that she has had to move premises to get away from him, she has a premature baby and she looks like shit this guy has a lot to answer for and all over 700 Euro..mad man.

Willow and Harry are still settling down, Willow is still in puppy mode and can be a right pain in the arse when she wants to play and poor Harry sometimes has to tell her off, the accidents in the house are getting less and less there are times though when she can be so sweet and butter wouldn't melt in her mouth.

 Asleep on a cushion

Sitting on my lap on a bench

We have got Willow to sit and lay down on command and I am now working on the "up" command I am still having trouble with her on the lead...pulling but I will get round to that as well. As a pup she was done well but  she is still teething and we have loads of toys for her to play with but yesterday morning I found she had tried to eat the TV remote Control.

A new one is on order

Lorni is back in the UK at the moment to sort out a few things which means life is a bit scary for me as I can't go anywhere cant leave Willow on her own and of course  I don't know the language yet, I took Lorni tot he station early yesterday morning. I walked the dogs three times yesterday together which is hard work. I had an early night but! I woke up at around 3:30am to find the electricity was off, dam dam dam, I had a quick look but couldn't see anything so went back to bed to wait for the morning and some light. Thankfully my wonderful neighbour Juan came to the rescue and  once again we have power, Now it's time to take the dogs out again..hurry up home Lorni please...!

37. Willow and more teeth...!!!

I just knew this would happen!!! as Lorni had been looking at rescue dogs for some time then I found a piccie on Facebook and showed Lorni...well that was it she was on the phone immediately to the people at RGSA, Galgo rescue.

Poor Willow had been found as a stray on the streets of Alicante but she wasn't always a stray she belonged to a Gypsy who was going to use her as a puppy making machine but she had escaped, Galgo's are only used for one season then either abandoned or sent to killing station, so Willow was lucky and was rescued she is probably around 12 months old, very thing, Galgo's are thin by nature but Willow is very thin. Lorni filled in the adoption papers we then had to wait for a home visit and to go and see if Willow and Harry would get on. The people at RGSA got n touch with our previous rescue centres and suddenly we didn't need a home check. We arranged to meet Willow in Alicante,The meeting went well then we found out that we could take Willow home with us that day after a quick visit tot he vets.

We bought her home with us which i have to admit I didn't expect, harry got a little possessive of his things and were he sleeps etc which was what we expected to start with, but by the second day he allowed her to sleep on the same sofa as him.

I walked them together and to be honest they weren't bad once we were out of the house, Willow was is still finding everything exciting and new and harry is keeping her on the straight and narrow for the most part, Yesterday I had a trip to the dentist to get the first of two teeth out it was a bit of an ordeal as the tooth broke an the had to dig the rest of it out, I got home and was feeling a bit ...drained so I had a lay down on the sofa and woke up to this....

Both of them looking after me, Willow is a very loving cuddle monster who just loves Human company and other dogs, Harry is slowly getting used to the idea that Willow is here to stay and I hope keep him company. This morning we had our first real break through when we found the two of them doing this...

Looks like they will get on after all. now all we have to do is sort out Willows house training as she hasn't lived indoors yet, gives us something to do I suppose.

36. More teeth and stuff..!

I couldn't sleep last night I kept thinking "what if they take the wrong teeth out"? I know silly isn't it? But anyone that knows me will understand my fear of the dentist. In the military I had a fair bit of dental work done by...butchers!.. yes and I mean it if they were any good they would have been making a fortune out in civy street wouldn't they? I am not joking when I say that I used to have IV valium before I would even get in the chair, Helen my first wife will back that up. A quick aside after looking at my x-ray (not good is it).

You will notice that on my left lower jaw (x-rays are back to front) I only have two teeth left where once there was five, I admit that a couple of years back I had one out so that begs the question where are the rest of them?? and!! one of the two remaining teeth has to come out hmmm. Look at all the work I have had done over the years. So anyway this morning Lorni take me back to the dentist to begin treatment, today's menu consisted of a deeeeep clean and the top tooth extraction. My dentist is a youngish female who speaks dam good English thank god, after five injections she begins and by god when they say deep clean they bloody well mean it. Then time to take the tooth out another couple of injections...didn't work so another one, that didn't work either so one more stronger injection and.....didn't work. So a discussions and another look at the x-ray and she concludes that the massive infection that I have is blocking the anaesthetic So I now have some giant size horse pills to take to kill off the infection and they will try again next week....oooh I can't wait..

It's not all been bad news here though as we have had some pretty fine weather considering what is happening in the UK and America 21 degrees here today but yesterday I went for a wander about....

These photo's were taken just behind where we live not bad eh? even more so when you think of what weather is happening in the UK at the moment.
