It's been a couple of weeks now and I have had time to recover, even my poor bum has now returned to normal thank god! so was it worth it would I do it again? the answer to both is a resounding yes,I really enjoy being on a bike and travelling on my own, there is always the feeling of !"what if" what if I get a puncture? what if I breakdown? what if I have an accident? what if I run out of fuel? these "risks" are what keeps the Adrenalin flowing and keeps you alert and on your toes it make me feel more alive than at any other time in my life. It is an addiction I feel. I don't want to do the trip to the UK again unless absolutely necessary as I don't want to get bored with it and lets face it there thousands of other places to visit and to see even though I do love the French countryside. So I am now looking at where I want to g next and I really can't make my mind up I have a couple of trips in mind but.....!we'll see.
Having spent hours cleaning the bike up and putting her under cover I find out that I had the seat int he wrong position I had it in the low position instead of the high position which is now been fixed and should make the next long trip far more comfortable for me and I have found the problem that lead to the of bike charging and the 12v auxiliary sockets failure.
We have been struggling with an oven and hob that was left behind when we bought the house one of the gas rings on the hob didn't work and one of the rings was a large electric ring which I think is for the huge Paella pans so we only had two working rings and the oven was taking longer and longer to cook anything one of the elements had packed up and it wasn't a fan oven, so we bit the bullet and bought new ones which after a lot of fiddling and fettling I managed to fit while Lorni was in the UK.
They are nothing special but my god what a difference, it's so good to be able to cook a pizza in under an hour and roast a chicken in under three hours, the wiring at the back of the old oven left a lot to be desired, wired in via a chocolate box so I got our friend Alan round to sort that out for us he is a registered electrician, we have family and friends visiting soon along with Chris already being here and another visit form Beth starting tomorrow so it was important to have something reliable to cook on. And on that note we also though it might be a good idea to get a BBQ most of the neighbours have outdoor kitchens etc we don't so we bought a BBQ but in came in a hundred bits and I have to admit that putting together Ikea furniture was easier but I got there in the end..
All ready for the guests to arrive as soon as we get a gas delivery. A week after I returned from my little trip the fiesta season started in our little village first we had a procession with band form the Church along the road one down from ours called Calle Santa Anna, Santa Anna was Jesus's grand mother and they celebrate that special day.
And on top of that we have an evening of traditional Valencean dancing with traditional music while being given some sort of grape liquor and cake all this takes place late evening it started around 9 pm and went on till the early hours.
A couple of days ago on Sunday Morning Lorni and I was walking the dogs int he morning when we came across part of the main road blocked off we found out that there was to be a concert in the village that evening again starting at around 9pm so we spent the after noon walking the dogs again and getting dinner ready a little bit earlier than normal and Chris agreed to stay behind and watch them so that Lorni and I could go and see what the fuss was about.
It was a really hot night the temperature was still in the low 30's and it was really cool to see a lot of the Spanish ladies using their fans We had a few drinks watched the concert and had a great night and once again I found myself wishing I had moved here years ago.. Now as I have already mentioned we have had Chris here for a few weeks and it has been great to see him again and for the first time since we got here Lorni and I have actually been out of the house without dogs thanks to Chris dog sitting here and there in return of course we have showed Chris around he has been to the beach to the local pool and been to Valencia twice.
Really going to miss Chris when he has to go back to the UK. While I was back int he UK a friend of mine asked me a question, apart form Family and friends what do you miss now you are living in Spain? it took a while for me to think that one through but the answer was easy....NOTHING!
